Among the important function of metal in biological system is the ability of many metal to a catalyst for chemical reactions. The use of synthetic complexing agent & their metal derivatives in plants & animals system has led to interesting & important results in recent years. Plants are considered as primal source of chemically reduced carbon compounds i.e carbohydrates oils and proteins. The building block of protein is amino acid. In the present work metals are complexed with amino acid rather than EDTA. Because amino acids have nutritive benefits after giving the metal to the plant and may be needed in the metabolic processes. The present work deal with the synthesis of L-Glutamic acid complexes with essential metals Co, Cu, Ca, Fe, Mg, Zn Ligand ratio in metal L-Glutamic acid complex is demonstrated and approved by atomic absorption spectroscopy which is 1:2 L-Glutamic acid complexes with above mentioned metals approved by studding the UV, IR spectra of these complexes.
